Welcome to our new blog! Each post here will tie back in some way to the sermons that Pastor Bob is preaching each Sunday. In this way we can continue our learning and grow in our understanding of God’s Word throughout the week together.
Bob’s sermon today was about spiritual gifts and church unity. God calls each one of us to use the gifts and talents that He has given us to serve his kingdom. In his commentary on 1 Corinthians, Warren Wiersbe reminds us that one of the signs that an individual’s maturity is growing is an understanding and appreciation of their body. In the same way, as we grow in Christ “we gain a better understanding of the church, which is Christ’s body”.
You are part of the church, you are part of the body of Christ.
God has created you in a unique way, and He has given you gifts that he wants you to use for His glory. Pastor Bob and Ben are going to set aside time this week and next to meet with you and help you discern your own spiritual gifts. They have an excellent spiritual gifts inventory that will help you think about the things that bring you joy and satisfaction in life and help to identify the ways God has gifted you to serve Him.
When we are all working together, as the unified body of Christ in this world, exciting things can happen. We hope that you will stop by the church sometime between 9am and 11am Monday-Thursday this week or Tuesday-Thursday next week to learn more about how God wants to use you.
